Headshot of Bill Swallow: White man with short brown hair and light beard wearing a purple shirt.

Bill has been a key player in the content industry since the beginning of his career. He’s worked in a variety of content roles, picking up critical skills and perspectives along the way. He began his career in localization production, moving into online help development, technical writing, documentation management, and consulting, establishing himself as a respected content strategist.

Bill’s passionate about maintaining a strong, candid, and respectful client/consultant relationship with you on every project. His clear vision in formulating big-picture strategies allows him to direct everyone’s focus onto the same page. He specializes in building working solutions when projects need to pivot and balancing the needs of all content stakeholders during complex collaborations. His biggest win is when a solution works well, and you are set up for success.

At Scriptorium, Bill partners with your content owners to design and build content systems that solve complex information management, publishing, and localization problems. He also:

  • Balances high-level business priorities with the specific needs of content contributors
  • Evaluates content localization for pitfalls, including technology considerations, complex workflows, cultural challenges, and writing practices
  • Overseas the successful completion of content strategy and implementation projects

Outside of his work with Scriptorium, you can find Bill homebrewing beer and winning local and regional awards. You’ll also find him playing the guitar, bass, board games, and if you’re lucky (or you provoke him), you may see some taekwondo.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He lives in Clifton Park, New York, in the United States.
