The FrameMaker Workbook Series

Scriptorium Press offers a series of workbooks on the unstructured and structured interfaces of FrameMaker. If you don't have the time or budget for classroom or web-based training, workbooks provide an excellent alternative.

The workbooks are compatible with versions 7 and 8 of FrameMaker.

Notes:

There are few differences in the interfaces of versions 7 and 8.
For users of the Advanced Structured FrameMaker: Building EDDs and Advanced Structured FrameMaker: Structured Applications workbooks: the File > Structure Tools submenu in FrameMaker 7 is the Structure Tools menu in Framemaker 8. You will need to adjust your menu choices accordingly while completing exercises.

The workbooks can be purchased in two formats:

PDF

You download a zip file from our online store. The zip file contains a PDF version of the workbook and the files for the exercises. There are no shipping delays: you get everything you need in minutes! The page size in the PDF files is 7 x 8.5 in. to optimize on-screen viewing. (The downloadable workbooks are not for use in the classroom. Trainers who would like to license our training materials can contact sales@scriptorium.com.)

Printed and spiralbound

From our online store, you purchase a printed copy ( 8 x 10 in.) that includes a CD containing the files for the exercises. Delivery time depends upon which shipping option you choose.

With both versions, you get access to video clips that show you how to use FrameMaker's interface. In the PDF versions, you select a video clip icon, and the video in AVI format is downloaded from Scriptorium Publishing's web site. For the printed versions, film clips in MPEG format are placed on your hard during the file installation process, or you can watch them directly from the companion CD.

The workbooks don't contain detailed conceptual explanations. Instead, we suggest you purchase a reference book to:
