Illuminations

Volume 2, Issue 1
January 1999

Greetings, and best wishes for 1999. In this issue of Illuminations, the newsletter of Scriptorium Publishing, we announce the expansion of our training into Texas, the posting of FrameMaker autonumbering information and an events calendar to our web site, and our upcoming Adobe Acrobat training. We also remind you about our upcoming lunchtime seminar.

We welcome your suggestions for newsletter topics. Drop us a line at comments@scriptorium.com.

Deep in the heart of Texas...

Scriptorium Publishing's training is heading west. During the week of March 22, 1999, we will offer our 2-day FrameMaker course and our 3-day WebWorks Publisher course in Dallas.

To register, go to the web registration page. Register by February 15 to get the early registration discount.

Fun with FrameMaker autonumbering

If creating numbered headings in your FrameMaker files is making your head numb, check out our Q&A about setting up autonumbered headings. It's not as complicated as you may expect.

Check out our new events calendar

We've created an events page to keep you updated about all of our offerings (and to keep ourselves organized, truth be told). The calendar includes our training courses, our seminars, and the conferences Scriptorium Publishing employees will be attending.

Upcoming Adobe Acrobat training

In the next few months, Scriptorium Publishing will offer its first course in Adobe Acrobat. The course will show you how to insert PostScript code in FrameMaker files to customize your PDF output. Watch our training page for details.

Register for the Knowledge Now lunchtime seminar

There is still room in our upcoming Knowledge Now lunchtime seminar. The workshop, Working  with Print and Online Templates, is scheduled for Thursday, February 18, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at our office in Cary. We'll explain how to use matching templates to customize a set of  FrameMaker files for print and online output. The cost of $50 includes lunch. To register, fill out this form.
