XML for STC
We are pleased to announce that Sarah O'Keefe will be writing a regular column on XML for the STC's Intercom magazine. After debating numerous phrases of varying propriety, Sarah has settled on "The XML Strategist" as the column title. "The XML Contrarian" was a close second. In that vein, Sarah's first article will be on why not to implement XML. She also plans to take on DITA's pros and cons in a future article. Watch for her in the fall issue. |

STC Conference Summary |
Last month, Sarah O'Keefe, Matt Arnold, and Sheila Loring attended the STC Technical Communication Summit in Minneapolis. Here's a photo of Sarah and Sheila at our booth:

Sarah's two sessions were heavily attended, and many folks dropped by the booth to pick up chocolate and our structured authoring white paper bundle (the popular "little yellow books").
If you weren't able to attend the conference, you can download the white papers free of charge from our online store. You can also request the handouts for Sarah's presentations—Strategic Planning for New Publishing Technology in Your Enterprise and The Business Case for XML—by sending a message to sales@scriptorium.com. |
