Scriptorium Starts a Wiki |
|
Earlier this month, Scriptorium launched wiki.scriptorium.com. This free online resource includes the content from our FrameMaker workbook series, complete with the exercise files. The workbook content is for FrameMaker 7 and is about 90% accurate for version 8. Registration is open and we encourage you to add information about the new features in FrameMaker 8.
The wiki content is under a Creative Commons license. You are free to share or remix information from the wiki, as long as you provide attribution and make clear to others the license terms of this work for any reuse or redistribution.
P.S. We've postponed publication of our book on structured FrameMaker 8. Read our blog for details. |

From Desktop Publishing to Structured Authoring
|
| August 18, 2008, 11 a.m. Eastern time |
| presented by Sarah O'Keefe |
| |
Just as the printing press revolutionized documentation, new communication technologies continue to improve how information is created and delivered. Desktop publishing has been effective at creating individual documents but now with the focus on content reuse, the technical writing team as a whole will need to focus on a new process and workflow. As with any paradigm shift, there may be challenges. Attend this webinar to learn the best approach to structured authoring. Sarah will review this paradigm shift and help you understand how to overcome any obstacles and focus on the positives when shifting from a desktop publishing environment to an XML-based workflow. |

An Overview of the DITA Open Toolkit
|
| August 26, 2008, 11 a.m. Eastern time |
| presented by Simon Bate |
| |

| |
Key Elements on Customizing and Troubleshooting Output
|
| September 23, 2008, 11 a.m. Eastern time |
