Lava, London, and Lobster

This fall and winter, Sarah O'Keefe will be traveling across the
northern hemisphere (and we do mean across!) to present at three
conferences:
- LavaCon 2006
in Kauai, Hawaii, on October 14: Sarah will be leading a
hands-on afternoon workshop on XSL, so bring a laptop. She will
also be doing a mystery presentation. For an overview of the conference
offerings, check out the draft
conference program (PDF format). LavaCon is intended for senior
technical writers and project managers.
- STC
Region 2 Conference in London on October 1314: Sarah's
presentation is about creating a business case for implementing
an XML-based structured authoring environment. Sarah will also
be available for discussions during the trade show component.
- XML 2006
in Boston on December 57: Sarah is part of panel discussion
about XML project management.
Sarah hopes to see you in Hawaii, London, or Boston! If you plan
to attend any of these conferences and would like to set up a formal
meeting, please contact Sarah at sales@scriptorium.com.

TrackAccess webcasts offer you
conference-quality presentations at the comfort of your own desk.
The webcast schedule for the coming months is as follows:
Each webcast is only $19.95. Register
soon; we limit the number of participants to ensure attendees can
ask questions. To participate, you need a web browser with Flash
support. We can deliver audio through a phone conference bridge
(higher quality) or via Internet audio (less expensive, especially
for attendees outside the United States). Attendees can ask questions
either through a chat interface or via the phone bridge.

Do you have what it takes to work at Scriptorium? We're looking
for a contract consultant/trainer for a six-month assignment with
the possibility of a conversion to permanent status.
Our documents may be structured, but our environment isn't. To
succeed, you need to be able to work independently, meet deadlines,
manage clients, and get along with the rest of the team. If you
delight in geeky publishing technology and like to explain it to
others, this may be the right job for you.
You'll find details in our job posting,
and please spread the word to friends or colleagues. Thanks!
