FrameMaker Workbooks: Cheaper and Downloadable!

To expand your options for FrameMaker training, we are offering our FrameMaker 7 Workbook Series as downloads. If you don't have the time or budget for our FrameMaker courses in the classroom or over the web, you can download workbooks to get affordable, self-paced FrameMaker training. Each workbook download sells for $49.95—a savings of almost $70 off the cost of the printed version, and you don't have to pay for shipping or wait for delivery!

From our online store, you download a zip file that contains a workbook in PDF format and the files for exercises. The PDF file, which has a page size of 7 x 8.5 inches to optimize on-screen viewing, has the same exercises as the printed version, and it includes links to AVI video clips that explain FrameMaker's interface. To view a video, select a film clip icon in the PDF file, and the video is downloaded from our web site. Check out these sample pages (PDF, 500K) to see what the downloaded workbooks look like and to view two video clips. (You need a media player such as RealPlayer or Windows Media Player to watch videos.)

The workbooks are compatible with versions 7, 7.1, and 7.2 of FrameMaker. We've also added information about the new features in 7.2.

You can download the following workbooks now:

The remaining two workbooks for structured FrameMaker—Building EDDs and Structured Applications—will be available as downloads by January 2006. For those who prefer our printed workbooks, we will continue to sell those for $119 each. You can also buy bundles of printed workbooks at special prices.

If you've been wondering about the elements in our DocFrame solution, now's your chance to see the complete DocFrame structure. You can download the DocFrame document type definition (DTD) from our online store at no cost—and even use the DTD if it suits your needs.

Download DTD and Evaluation Guide (555K zip file contains DTD and PDF file)

The DocFrame element definition document (EDD), structured application for XML round-tripping, and XSL transformations for HTML, HTML Help, and JavaHelp are all based on the structure in the DTD. If you like what you see in the DTD and don't want to spend months developing the EDD, XSL transforms, and other components, consider purchasing DocFrame licenses to implement a fully integrated, XML-based solution in a matter of minutes.

Contact sales@scriptorium.com for more information about DocFrame and licensing options.
