Is
DITA Right for You?
|
|
These days, the Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) is
generating a tremendous amount of buzz, and software companies are
releasing tools and plug-ins for authoring in DITA. Because interest
is very high in this open source XML implementation, the amount
of information about it is overwhelming.
To help you cut through the chatter, we've just posted a free white
paper, Assessing
DITA as a Foundation for XML (350 KB), in our online
store. The paper offers an overview of DITA, summarizes its
advantages, and describes points to consider before developing a
DITA-based implementation.

Hello, New England: Upcoming Conference and Presentation
|
|
On December 5, Sarah will be at the XML
2006 conference in Boston, where she will speak as part of a
panel discussion on XML
Project Management Best Practices. She will also be part of
the PechaKucha,
which the conference describes as "speed dating for vendors."
Each vendor does a 20 by 20 presentation: 20 slides displayed for
20 seconds each. If you would like to set up a formal meeting during
the conference, please contact Sarah at sales@scriptorium.com.
On December 6, Sarah will be in Nashua, NH, where she is offering
a presentation, "Technical Writer or Soulless Automaton? Authoring
in the Age of XML," to the STC
Northern New England chapter.
