Conference Season Finale

Sarah and Matt have returned a little fluish but otherwise safe and sound from tcworld 2007 in Wiesbaden, Germany. Sarah presented on Assessing DITA as a Foundation for XML Implementation and Comparing DITA Authoring in FrameMaker and XMetaL. Copies of her presentation can be found here:

Chocolate fountains, assassination threats, and yodeling hamsters were just a few of the other highlights from the conference. For a more detailed account, you can read some additional observations on our blog, Palimpsest.

Looking for More

Scriptorium needs a contract technical consultant to bolster its already fantastic staff. The technical consultant will design and implement publishing solutions for a variety of customers in high-tech, defense, government, and other content-heavy industries. Knowledge of of XML, DITA, XSL, DITA-OT, and other standards-based publishing tools and technologies are a must.

Click here for a full description of the position and contact information.

Final Contest

For our last 10th-anniversary giveaway, we're offering both volumes of Publishing Fundamentals: FrameMaker 8. One lucky winner will receive a copy of each volume when the books are released. All you need to do is answer a brief survey.

Thanks to everyone who participated in our previous anniversary event. For each survey completed, we donated $1 to the American Red Cross (designated for disaster relief) and Doctors Without Borders.

Training

We have posted next year's class schedule through March. For information about what is available, check out our online calendar.

For information about classroom and online-based training, see our training options page. If you have any questions, contact training@scriptorium.com.

New Phones

After much anticipation and ennui with our old phones, the new system has been installed. Alan Pringle has retired as the voice of Scriptorium's answering system and is being replaced by the memorable voice of Matt Arnold.

Our phone number and extensions remain the same. If you have any problems with calling, please contact us immediately and make us aware of the issue.
