Fun (and good eating) at our open house

Thanks to everyone who made our open house a smashing success! We enjoyed food from Chef John's (especially the smoked salmon) and catching up with clients and friends.

FrameMaker for Dummies isn't just for dummies

FrameMaker for Dummmies

Check out the FrameMaker for Dummies review posted on December 14 at amazon.com. The reviewer praises the book as "a solid, must-have book for beginner and intermediate FrameMaker users" and provides a candid critique. (And for the December 15 reviewer: information about creating a new file is found on page 13.)

If you already own a copy of the book, please go to amazon.com and add your comments. We want to know what you think! If you don't own a copy yet, visit our web site for ordering information or go to your local bookstore. If you'd like a signed copy, you can pick it up at our office for $21 (including sales tax) or we'll ship it anywhere in the U.S. for $25. Contact Sarah for more info.

More training courses in the works

Now that we have our very own training room, we're expanding our training schedule by offering four exciting new classes:

  • Feb. 2: FrameMaker Tools under $200, a day of discussing the third-party tools that add functionality to FrameMaker
  • Feb. 3-4: Advanced WebWorks Publisher 2000, two days of customizing templates, dissecting macros, and parsing regular expressions
  • March 17: Single-Sourcing Overview, a day of learning how to use one source (a book written in FrameMaker) to create online help instead of maintaining both print and online help sources
  • June 19-23: Tech Writing 101, an introduction to technical writing basics, including hands-on software training

For course details, pricing, discounts, and registration deadlines, see our training web page. To register for the courses, go to our registration form.

Students taking our WebWorks Publisher classes can purchase the software from Quadralay at a 20 percent discount.
