Analysis and re-engineering
For our customer, an FDA-regulated medical device manufacturer, we analyzed existing documentation systems and made recommendations for the future. Our deliverables included system relationship, business processes, and tool functionality for document editing, content management, change management, content rendering, review management, portal presentation, and business quality processes. This is an ongoing project that will include RFP development, tool selection, tool implementation, process and tool training, and large-scale document conversion.

Streamlining HTML and PDF production
Our client used an outdated publishing process that required hours of manual work to create PDF files and accessible HTML output. Scriptorium implemented a new workflow that offers push-button production of HTML and PDF output.

Implementing XML in a print-focused environment
Our client prints two-color user guides in large quantities and creates on-device help for its products. The document production process was time consuming and expensive, so Scriptorium developed an XML-driven workflow that preserves print quality, streamlines the localization process, and automates the creation of on-device help.

Minimizing author disruption when implementing structured publishing
Our client’s authoring process was based in Microsoft Word and required high levels of manual work to create PDF and HTML deliverables. Scriptorium implemented a structured authoring workflow that automates the creation of PDF and HTML output, but still allows the client’s content contributors to author in Microsoft Word.
