We performed a multi-year implementation of documentation tool and process changes for a very large software systems document set, including the following activities:

• Designed and developed new processes and tools for:
  • Automated capture and processing of software documentation
  • Automated conversion of Microsoft Word to topic-oriented DITA content
  • Reporting of document development status
  • Reporting of structured markup problems
  • Multiple document creation from single-sourced topic-oriented source
• Trained authors in structured documentation concepts and tools.
• Converted Microsoft Word to DITA documentation content.
• Made extensive fixes and enhancements to the DITA Open Toolkit for XHTML, Eclipse Help, and XSL:FO/PDF outputs.
• Managed tools and documentation in Clearcase and Alfresco content repositories.
